Manage subscriptions that silently take your money out from your account

Development in technology has made people more familiar with various media platforms. Taking advantage of this, media companies introduced a system called “subscription.” The subscription consisted mainly of a system that automatically paid monthly. And, now I am going to talk about how to control some of your unnecessary periodical subscriptions.

1. Plan the use of subscriptions

  • Before making payment for subscriptions, consider how long and how you are going to use them. For example, if you are willing to pay for only two months, try to use a method that could remind you of the deadline for cancellation of the subs. Also, some subscriptions offer Try sessions and charge after it is done. Therefore, it would be very helpful to remind yourself about the deadline of Try sessions to not pay unnecessary charges.

2. Manage the subscriptions on your phone

  • App Store

Settings ➤ Apple ID, iCloud, Media & Purchases (below the search bar) ➤ Subscriptions ➤ Select the subscriptions that you want to cancel ➤ Cancel Subscriptions

  • Google Play Store

Google Play Store ➤ Login ➤ Subscriptions (Tap Menu) ➤ Select the subscriptions that you want to cancel ➤ Tap Cancel Subscriptions

3. Use Subscriptions Management Apps

  • There are some good apps for managing subscriptions on either the App Store or Google Play Store. For those apps, you can actually link to your bank account or put the subscriptions manually.
  • Apps: Turebill, Bobby, Subby, etc…
